Deanery Synod with Bishop Michael

On Wednesday 21st June we look forward to once again welcoming Bishop Michael of Hertford to the Berkhamsted Deanery to give a lecture on Mission. Bishop Michael previously visited just before Christmas and was an attendee at the Sunnyside Lunch Club and he also hosted the popular ‘Beer & Hymns’ event at the local Haresfoot Brewery. This time, he’ll be giving a lecture in the St Mary’s Church Hall, Northchurch titled “First Steps in Making Disciples”. Before moving to the Diocese of St Albans, Bishop Michael worked as the Director of Mission in the neighbouring Diocese of Oxford, so we’re really looking forward to hearing what he’s got to say.

All are welcome to attend this evening, where the focus will be on exploring constructive, non cringey approaches to reaching out and engaging people who are perhaps on the fringes of our church life. There will be plenty of opportunities to explore how this might be applied to different parish contexts, particularly for our various churches in Berkhamsted.

The evening will start at 7.30pm and there is plenty of parking available at St Mary’s School. We look forward to seeing you there!
