About us
Sunnyside is an open evangelical Anglican church located in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire with a rich variety of services and activities. Our membership is around 250, and several services are held each week in our beautiful church building.
Our mission statement is to ‘Make Jesus Known’, which we endeavour to do in worship and service within the local community. Our ‘Mission Action Plan’ goal is to be ‘An open Christian community of love, joy and peace’! We have an annual Gift Day which gives an opportunity for ‘Sunnysiders’ to support mission in this country and overseas.
We reflect a contemporary worship style as we seek to connect with the community around us.
2009 was our centenary year; we are excited by the privilege and responsibility of taking the church forward into the next 100 years.
Our staff team comprises:
- Vicar – David Abbott
- Officiating Minister - Dick Clarkson
- Youth Worker – Tom Hodkinson
- Children’s and Families worker – Sharon Fowler
- Music Director – Sue Graham Smith
- All supported by our office manager – Sally Bright
Do come and join us if you find yourself in the area. A warm welcome awaits you. We hope you enjoy your tour around this site. Please feel free to get in touch with us for help or further information. Directions to Sunnyside Church are available here.
Sunnyside is linked to St. John the Evangelist, a small village church a mile down the road in Bourne End, and with whom we share clergy and readers.
