funerals
This is a difficult time for bereaved family and friends, so we work closely with the bereaved family to run a Christian funeral that gives thanks for and also reflects the life of the deceased. We are able to lead a funeral service in the church or at a local crematorium, with burial of the coffin or cremated remains as appropriate. In the first instance, please contact the church office or a member of clergy.
burials
Burial space in the churchyard is now very limited; space can only be made available for those people who lived within the parish boundary, or to those active worshippers on the electoral roll, at the sole discretion of the vicar. However we will also conduct burials at other locations as required.
memorial pathway
We have a memorial pathway into which cremated remains of the deceased may be interred, and a memorial stone placed over the place of internment, inscribed with the name of the loved one. This provides a permanent memorial of the individual and a place to visit.
thanksgiving service
We hold an annual thanksgiving service at which we remember and give thanks for the lives of those who have died. We invite those who have been bereaved more than 3 months ago. The next service will be on 4th March 2012 at 10.00am.
questions?
may we leave flowers?
Normal graveyard regulations apply to all memorials, and we welcome fresh flowers. These will be removed in due course by the gardening team, however in line with the graveyard regulations, we request that no plastic or additional items be left in the churchyard.
what kind of memorial may we have?
Local funeral directors and memorial masons are aware of the legal requirements and can advise on suitable memorials.
