Sunday services
8.00am Holy Communion Service
Based on the Book of Common Prayer, this service is held in the chancel every Sunday.
10am Our Main Sunday Service
As a reflection of the creative God we worship and a reflection of the community who come together to worship, this service covers a breadth of styles and music – using liturgy, worship songs, hymns, formal and informal prayers, video clips and other creative responses – all of which centre around the Bible passage for the day (usually the Common Worship Lectionary) so that each item leads to, or responds to, what we believe God is saying to us through his Word.
The children and young people have their own teaching groups most weeks. Further details of activities for all ages can be found on ‘children and families’ and ‘young people’ pages.
Each month we have a pattern of service types:
First Sunday of the Month – Morning Prayer. This is also the Sunday when we hold a baptism service from time to time as an integral part of our family worship together.
Second Sunday of the Month – A communion service with the children joining us from their teaching groups to share in Communion together. Children who have completed our ‘Children in Communion’ course are welcomed in sharing communion.
Third Sunday of the Month – This is usually our three-quarters-of-an-hour ‘All Age Service’. These services are becoming more and more popular and act as an accessible link for families from ‘Messy Church’.
Fourth Sunday of the Month – A communion service with the children staying in their groups. To compensate for this we usually hold an informal Communion service on the fourth Sunday as an integral part of sunday@ five
Fifth Sunday of the Month – As these Sundays only come round four times a year, where possible, we try something a little different. In the past we have held a church lunch and joined in a United Service all together at 1.30pm. We’ve also rearranged the seating and held worship in the round and also tried Café Style. For obvious reasons we try and make it known what to expect on 5th Sundays well in advance.
From time to time special events or the Seasonal Celebrations interrupt this neat arrangement so checking on the website home page for what is actually happening this Sunday is essential. This information should also be displayed on this page on the right hand margin titled ‘This Sunday’.
Tea and coffee is served after this service and we love visitors to join us so we can get to know each other.

Aimed at 9-13 year olds, this term-time service seeks to bridge the gap between the children’s teaching groups and the young people’s programme. With songs, games, video clips, talks, group discussions, and an informal Communion Service on the fourth Sunday of the month, the young people are encouraged to build a relationship with God and with each other. Adults and younger children are also welcome to this service, with groups and activities provided for them too. It starts at 5.00pm with finger food and drinks.
7.00pm – revive
Revive is a haven at the end of one week and the beginning of another for young people. There’s lively worship, relevant teaching, time for discussion, and an opportunity to receive prayer.
