Youth

Here at Sunnyside Church we love young people!
We believe young people are a very important part of our church community and love to see them grow and develop into the people that God has made them to be. They are full of potential, enthusiasm and always a joy to be around – a key part of our family life.
That is why, as a church, we choose to invest in our young people. We have a full time youth team leader Tom, who organises a wide range of different groups and activities throughout the week for young people aged 11-18. For more information, do not hesitate to contact Tom at: youth@sunnysidechurch.org.uk

What goes on

Friday 7pm – The Edge

The Edge

The Edge is our Friday night youth club for those in school years 7 to 13. It’s a chance to let off a bit of steam at the end of the school week, with a range of games and activities on offer, along with a well stocked tuck shop. For more info, click here.

Sunday 10am – POG

POG (People of God), is for those in school years 6 to 9. We meet on Sunday mornings during the Morning Worship service. We usually spend an hour or so learning about God, before heading back to rejoin the church family.

Sunday 5pm – sunday@five

sunday@Five is our Sunday afternoon term-time service, which seeks to bridge the gap between the children’s teaching groups and the young people’s program. There is usually songs, games, video clips, talks, group discussions, the young people are encouraged to build a relationship with God and with each other.

Sunday 7pm – Revive

Revive

Revive is our Sunday evening service, aimed at those in school year 9 and above. We have lively worship, relevant teaching and there’s always space for discussion and the opportunity to receive prayer. For more info, click here.

During the week

Here at Sunnyside, we firmly believe that church should not just be somewhere you go to on Sundays. We are called to live as a church all week long.
There are cell groups for young people that meet during the week, where they can support each other, more about God, and to deepen their relationship with Him.
Tom works in a number of the schools in town to lead assemblies, run lunchtime drop-in clubs, and help lead CUs. If you see him wondering around school, say hello!
If you have anything that you want to talk to somebody about 1:1, Tom is always happy to meet up with you for a coffee after school, or during the holidays. Just give him a shout.

Refract

Refract

God is a lot bigger than Sunnyside, and we are happy to work together with other churches to proclaim the name of his son, Jesus Christ. Refract is the name given to the united Christian youthwork across Berkhamsted, Northchurch and Tring. Refract organise united services and events, where young Christians from across the area can come together to share their common faith. Refract also organise an annual trip to the Soul Survivor festival in Somerset, when we spend a week camping together, eating together, worshiping together and learning about Jesus together. For more information, check out the Refract Facebook page.
