Harvest at Sunnyside

We’re getting ready to celebrate Harvest at Sunnyside, a time when we give thanks for all the good things that God has given us. Join us as we celebrate together during the first weekend of October, we’ve got lots going on.

Saturday 6th October: Messy Church
Our monthly Messy Church service meets on a Saturday afternoon at 3.30pm until 5.30pm.  There’s a great mix of different creative craft activities and finishes with a short worship celebration.  It’s a good way for the whole family to enjoy time together and we even finish with a meal!  This month we’re incorporating Harvest as we think about giving thanks for all that we’ve got.  If you’ve never been before, why not come along and join us?

Sunday 7th October
During our Sunday services we’ll be focusing particularly on Harvest as we gather together to worship God.  Join us at either The Nine or Ten Thirty as we consider what it looks like to live a life of gratitude in response to the generosity of God.  At our Ten Thirty we will be giving thanks for new life too as we baptise Elodie and welcome her into God’s Church.  We’ll be collecting food gifts for vulnerable and elderly people living in our community at both our services.  Please click here for the DENS Harvest food list.

Monday 8th October: Harvest Songs of Praise | 2pm
Join us for our Harvest Songs of Praise service followed by afternoon tea.  This is a service filled with joy as we welcome our friends from Sunnyside Rural Trust as well as those who attended our Monday senior citizens Lunch Club.  The service consists of some traditional harvest hymns, readings and prayers and all are welcome to stay in the Church Hall afterwards for tea and cake.

Saturday 13th October: St John’s Harvest Supper | 7.30pm
There will be a delicious buffet supper in the Bourne End Village Hall.  Tickets cost £10 and are available from Rebecca Fardell.  This is a wonderful opportunity to spend time together and with our brothers and sisters at St John’s whilst celebrating God’s goodness to us.
