We have been thinking about it, talking about it, planning it, praying for it and finally it has arrived: the parish weekend is here! I am really excited about what God has planned for us as we gather to spend time with God and one another.
‘I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.’ (John 15.5)
Our weekend away is going to be centred on Jesus’ teaching about the vine and the branches (John 15.1-17) as we ask ourselves what does it mean for us to be the body of Christ in this place at this time? Our children and young people will be exploring this in their groups too.
There will be no church activities or services at Sunnyside during the weekend away (16th-18th November) as we will be at High Leigh. If you are not with us on the Sunday, you will find a warm welcome at Bourne End. Why not go and join our brothers and sisters in St John’s at 10.30 for worship?
Please pray for our weekend away: we want it to be a blessed time when we can draw nearer to God and to one another as we enjoy spending time together and exploring God’s vision for Sunnyside. Don’t forget that the final special prayer meeting is 8th November 8pm-9pm in the Breukleman Room. The three we have had so thus far have been special times with God so why not come along.
‘Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’
