One of the things that was mentioned at the weekend away was that people would like more opportunities to pray. Following the success of the prayer room during Thy Kingdom Come, we will be marking the start of Advent with another one. From 12 noon on Friday 30th November – 12 noon on Monday 3rd December, the Breukleman Room will be set up with a number of prayer stations to help us engage with prayer.
The lead up to Christmas seems to be increasingly busy with preparations for gatherings with family and friends to celebrate the festive season. In the busyness it is easy for Advent to get lost as Christmas occupies more and more of December (and even longer). This is a shame as Advent is an important season in the Christian year. It is traditionally seen as a time of preparation for Christmas during which we use some of our Holy Habits to get us spiritually ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us.
Why not spend some time in our prayer room this Advent? It will provide an oasis of calm in a season of bright lights and help you to be spiritually ready as well as practically ready for Christmas.
The prayer room will be open 8am – 8pm.
