PCC awayday update

Praise God for answered prayers! The PCC had a good day away today in the comfortable surroundings of our sister church at Bourne End. We began the day by reflecting on Isaiah 49 and then moved to reviewing the weekend away, to considering our priorities at Sunnyside and discussing how we might be more effective as we seek to Love, to Grow and to Serve God, one another and our neighbours. We drew our time together to a close by sharing communion which seemed a fitting end to a day spent worshipping, praying and seeking God’s will for us as a church family. There will be more feedback to come but meanwhile, I leave you with a verse from Isaiah 49 which struck me strongly today and I believe may be a prophecy – and a challenge for us:

The children born during your bereavement
    will yet say in your hearing,
“This place is too small for us;
    give us more space to live in.” (verse 20)

Is our vision big enough? We can be sure that God’s heart embraces all his creation and he has equipped us for whatever it is he is calling us to do. Do continue to pray for us as we seek God’s vision for Sunnyside and please share anything you feel God is saying to you with me or a member of the PCC. We want to hear what God is saying to his church at Sunnyside.

with love and prayers
