Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone! It particularly caters for: People asking questions of life: What is the point of life? What happens when we die? What relevance does Jesus have for our lives today? How do we deal with guilt? People interested in investigating Christianity. Newcomers to the Church. New Christians. People preparing for marriage/baptism/confirmation. Those who want to brush-up on the basics. Anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith. People of all ages are welcome.
When and where?
The Alpha course meets weekly on Tuesday evenings for seven weeks and includes the option to attend an online course, instead of in person at church.  Evening courses begin with tea, coffee and cake at 7.15pm, followed by a video presentation at 7.30pm.  Afterwards we have group discussions about what we’ve heard.  The evening ends at 9pm. What happens at Alpha?
A typical evening begins with tea/coffee and cake, followed by a short video and talk looking at topics such as: Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? Why and how should I read the Bible? Why and how do I pray? What about the Holy Spirit? How does God guide us? How can I resist evil? Why and how should we tell others? Does God heal today? What about the Church? How can I make the most of the rest of my life? After each talk there is time in small groups for everyone to discuss any issues, ask questions they may have or express opinions and give them the opportunity to get to know each other and learn together.
What does Alpha cost?
Nothing! There is no charge for attending the Alpha course, or for the refreshments provided. It’s our pleasure to host you!
