Advent: exploring the season together.
‘Pursuing Christ through the haze of tinsel, gift wrap and Lebkuchen’
The season of Advent can be a busy time of tinsel, gift wrapping and Lebkuchen and passes us by before we have had the chance to stop. Why not join us, to stop and reflect this season and explore Advent together by reading and discussing Lucy Rycroft’s book, ‘Redeeming Advent’.
The format of the book is divided into 4 themes of 6 days each. We will be starting the group on Wednesday 1st December at 7.30pm and running through to Wednesday 22 December. So much of secular Christmas seems to start earlier and earlier, and life is so full of extra activities, it’s no wonder that Christ and our Christian life gets squeezed out but Lucy’s key theme is to keep Christ’s coming in clear focus, in and amongst all of the other fun and jollity. So, first decide to make this year different and join this short-term group. Next, please buy (or we can supply) the book so you can read Lucy’s introduction and the first three days in the lead up to our first meeting. Finally, join us in the Breukelman Room at 7:30pm on the 1st.
