Community Cafe

I promised you a special Community Cafe in November 2022 – my original plan of a baking competition is parked until the Spring, however, we intend to use our last Community Cafe of the year to make cards for the Berkhamsted Cards of Christmas Hope appeal.

The purpose of this initiative is to fill a card with a message of hope for someone who may be on their own this Christmas. This is in keeping with the Listening Project prompting us to look out for those isolated in our community, and we were reminded recently of supporting those experiencing loneliness in Andrew’s sermon on 30th October (worth catching up with if you didn’t hear!).

It would be wonderful if you can join us in Church on Saturday 19th November 10am-noon (slightly longer Cafe slot) and help to make some cards.

All materials will be provided, including envelopes. Just bring yourselves, your reusable mug, and any optional personal touch(es) as mentioned in the attached leaflet. Cards of Christmas Hope Appeal leaflet

My friend Lucinda who is heading it up this year will be in attendance, as will Charlotte to provide assistance. Please use this as an opportunity to bring along friends, neighbours etc, the more the merrier – all ages welcome.

Free hot drinks and cake provided as usual, please bring a reusable mug where possible to minimise our washing up (and you get more!). Samson (and his pack of Uno and cards!) will be with me, and I’m hoping to be assisted by Howard!

If you can’t come to Community Cafe but want to help with the Cards of Christmas Hope appeal then see the leaflet for details of drop off or I’m happy to pass on for you.
