You may have noticed some new recycling bins at the entrance to the lobby in addition to the one already collecting light plastics. Light plastics can also be taken directly to Tesco (Berkhamsted, Tring and Hemel Hempstead).
The new bins are for items that Dacorum do not currently recycle as part of the green bin collections and which can be difficult to recycle. The bins are divided into the following:
Batteries
Toothcare – toothbrushes, electric toothbrush heads, empty dental floss containers, toothpaste cartons and outer packaging
Contact Lenses – soft disposable contact lenses, empty contact lens blister packaging and foil from blister packaging
Make Up – face compacts, tubes, pots, eye/brow mascara wands, eyeliner pens, lipsticks, lip glosses and lip balms.
Writing Instruments – pens, felt tips, highlighters, markers, ink cartridges, tape and fluid pots, fountain pens
The bins will be monitored and emptied on a regular basis. Please do spread the word to your families and friends as everyone is welcome to use them.
Also don’t forget to take your items that need fixing to The Repair Cafe at The Open Door, High Street, Berkhamsted – first Saturday of every month 9.30 to 12.30
