Those in Church last Sunday will have heard Rebecca and Katie Randall-Stratton introducing the Community Quiz which is proposed for Sunday 29th January 2023 3-5pm.

Hosting an indoor community event is one of Mission Action Group’s (consisting of Peter Hyatt, Penny Harrison, Diana White, Katie and staff representatives) current annual goals. The vision for this event is: it will be a completely free event (with free tea, coffee and cakes plus quiz prizes, donations not allowed!), it will be open to all ages (single folks, couples, families etc), and we will intentionally invite those who live, work and attend activities within our parish. A great chance to get folks into Church who may not normally come or haven’t been for a long time.

At this stage we are trying to understand what goes on in our parish and suggestions have ranged from Brownies and Monday exercise group who use the hall, to folks who have an allotment nearby, to customers of the Boat and Rising Sun pubs, and to the Haresfoot Park Industrial Estate workers. Please do let the office know of any ideas you have.

We are also keen to hear the names of any possible links, for example Chris Cartwright leads the Sunnyside Walking Group and she has already confirmed she will organise a Walking Group quiz team. As well as specific teams, we are hoping our lovely congregation will form teams.
