Daily Reflection 10: 27th May

This is the last of our reflections to help you pray during Thy Kingdom Come; an enormous thank you to those who wrote them. We hope that you have found them helpful. There has been a reflection to help you pray during Thy Kingdom Come each day, focussing on the two main themes of TKC this year: The character of God and living the kingdom through love and service. They have been written by different members of Sunnyside Church. We suggest you ask God to speak to you through the words and picture before you begin, then read slowly through the reflection. What is God saying to you? How might you respond?

This is part 2 of a reflection; part 1 was yesterday.

Bible readings
John 20.19-21
On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you!’ After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.

Again Jesus said, ‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.’

2 Corinthians 3.3
You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

Reflection: A letter from Christ part 2
Paul tells us we are letters from Christ, not written in ink but with the Holy Spirit that Jesus breathes into his friends in the Upper Room to empower them to carry his truth and his life to the world, to our neighbourhoods. Will we allow our lives to become a letter of his love? Can we respond ‘Here I am, send me!’ and allow the Lord to write his communication into the structure of our lives, offering a blank page, not one half filled with our own wisdom, but in the spirit of his love. What might be the unique and special something that God can only say through you? So may the recipient recognize the sender’s love through this time of Thy Kingdom Come.

Prayer
Come Holy Spirit
