Community Cafe June report

We had a great turn out for our last Community Cafe before we break for summer. Iris Bridson and Sarah Tizzard (our new Families and Young People Leader) enjoyed their first time co-hosting!

It was wonderful to welcome Lucinda Monks for our second instalment of Craftea and she reported that it was a pleasure to sit with and help a young girl make her first pocket heart! We learnt all about ‘snowdrop hearts’ which are given to mums who donate milk after baby loss. Lucinda is planning to join us again in future, so there will be lots more chances to get involved and enjoy some crafting with your cake!

As usual, the hard working gardeners enjoyed a rest, refreshments and chats too. Many thanks to Penny and Tony Wager for setting the Church back up. This support is just one example of how Community Cafe wouldn’t be possible without the great team behind it.

Community Cafe returns on Saturday 16th September and then 14th October (note this is the second Saturday to be outside of half term and also will be the morning of the Tearfund Quiz 2023), and 18th November, 10-11.30am. Please pop these in your diaries.

This event wouldn’t be possible without the brilliant folks supporting it – those who bake the yummy cakes, those who come along to co-host, and those who come to set the church back up. If one or more of these aspects interests you then please click on the link for more information – this will be left open all year to capture support. Any questions please contact Katie.
