Mission Focus : July 2023

Each month we pray for two of our mission partners. During July we are praying for Elim Missions (Heidi Longworth) and the Sunnyside Rural Trust.

Elim Missions (Heidi Longworth). After bible college, Heidi spent 10 years as our Music & Worship Leader in the Zeros and then spent the next decade in Romania, latterly at the Deo Gloria Church in Hunedoara, acting as its Worship Leader. After a spell back in England, serving at her Mum’s church up in Crewe  and beginning her studies at All Nations College, Heidi felt God’s call to return to Deo Gloria, but also now as a mission partner for Elim Missions. She has received a warm welcome there, picking up where she left off in leading worship, but also getting involved in a thriving youth group. She has asked us to pray:

  • For the camp I am leading at Casa Harului in the first week of July – which is for young people with disabilities and their parents – that they would respond positively to the Gospel.
  • For the youth group at Deo Gloria Church – for the new direction we are taking in discipling them, and also for the camp we are taking them on in August, that the young people get to know Jesus and grow in their discipleship journey.
  • For continued healing for Heidi’s health issues and for energy.
  • For inspiration, motivation and energy to finish my MA studies and particularly my dissertation.

Sunnyside Rural Trust is a social enterprise offering training and work experience for 150 vulnerable people including those with learning disabilities. Participants take part in activities such as book keeping, landscaping, garden maintenance and animal husbandry as well as working in their cafes and farm shops. They have asked us to pray:

  • for the plans to refit the activity centre to make it more accessible for trainees and for those with Alzheimer/dementia
  • for the new service opening in Bedmond supporting vulnerable young people to develop horticultural skills and to receive therapeutic input
  • for wisdom on how to meet growing demand for transport
