Every month we pray for two of our mission partners. During August we are praying for Frontiers (James and Joanna) and Playskills.

Frontiers (in support of James and Joanna)
Frontiers (UK) is the sending agency of our overseas partners, James & Joanna. Its vision statement is, “with love and respect, inviting all Muslim peoples to follow Jesus.” James lived in Berkhamsted for much of his early life and came to faith here in Sunnyside.  James & Joanna have been working with the Rohingya refugees since 2015, in Southeast Asia and more recently in the UK. After a few years in the UK, supporting James’ mum through her cancer treatment, they are preparing to return to Southeast Asia in summer 2024 to start a new work amongst the Rohingya. 

Things to pray for:

• James and Joanna are currently recruiting team mates to join them. Pray for wisdom as they recruit and build a team. They have two people signed up to join them and another couple of people expressing interest. 
• It is hoped that a local church in Bradford will take on their ESOL class. Pray for good connections with the students and for strong relationships to develop with the new volunteers. 
• William (10) and Bethan (8) are on board with the move, but sad to say goodbye to their friends. Pray for them (and their parents) as they navigate the transition from life in the UK to life in Southeast Asia. Pray for wisdom in choosing the right school for the kids, and for good friendships in Southest Asia
• Pray that God would be preparing the hearts of the Rohingya men and women that James and Joanna will meet in their new city.

Playskill
Playskill supports pre school children  with physical disabilities and delays and their families across Herts. They help children to develop their communication, movement and key life skills through therapeutic play sessions and training ,advice and support for families.

Please pray for:

• new team members  – 2 physiotherapists starting in September
• successful fundraising campaigns (The Great Big Walk for Herts – 09/23,  Global’s Make Some Noise Day – 10/23)
• the new children and families that will be assessed and supported in September
