Saturday 16th March 2024 morning saw another great Community Café in Church, with Katie and Hannah F hosting the refreshments, Lucinda M hosting Craftea (she caught up with her crocheting!), and Penny W setting the church back up. A slightly quieter Café this month, with no gardeners and less ballet students due to an exam, but a chance after a busy week to stop and connect and there were wonderful conversations. Thanks as ever to the amazing team of bakers. This month’s cake shout-outs go to Liz Beloe for her yummy date cake (and for the amount she provided which meant we got to enjoy more on Sunday morning!) and to Jane Lines for her extremely popular chocolate cupcakes. The next Community Café will be Saturday 20 April 10.30am-noon. Further 2024 dates for your diaries: 18 May, 15 June, 21 September, 19 October, 16 November (none as usual in July, August or December). There is currently a very limited pool of Set Back Uppers and I’d love to have more folks involved to plug current gaps. This task involves arriving by noon (although most folks arrive around 11.30am to enjoy a cuppa, cake and chats themselves), and setting church chairs back up so normally finish by 12.30-12.45pm. The information link for Community Café in 2024 allows folks to respond with available dates and if we get a few it might work out just one offer of help per person is needed in 2024.
