We are thrilled to report our Sunnyside Community Barn Dance on Saturday 31st January 2026 evening was a massive success! Please see below for some photos from the event.

36 of us ranging from 4 to 90 years’ old came together for the evening in Sunnyside Church Hall! There were lots of conversations happening around the edges of the hall and we were particularly pleased to welcome back folks who had attended the 2024 event. There was a mix of approximately half Sunnysiders and half from the local community.

Anna and Andy from Hedgerow Tipple led us brilliantly in two sets. Back in 2024 we completed 10 dances – this time due to a slightly longer event we managed 12! The dances we did were:

We had a break in the middle for hot drinks and super tasty puddings. Many thanks to those who provided puddings, and to those who set-up, carried the PA equipment, served refreshments, and cleared up (particularly Rachel H working tirelessly in the background).

As before we’ve had wonderful feedback about the event via various sources. Whilst we had smaller numbers this time a few commented that the extra space for chatting and dancing was welcomed. Another example included “Thanks for organising it – a great fun evening”. Folks were also raving about it on Sunday morning. Anna and Andy had a great time themselves, with Anna saying “We had such a lovely evening last night dancing with you all, a more welcoming and smiley bunch of people we couldn’t ask for!”

Hedgerow Tipple can be hired for Ceilidhs and Barn Dances – they bring all their own PAT electrical safety certificated equipment along and have full Public Liability insurance for £5m. For more information please see visit their website www.hedgerowtipple.com (with Anna’s contact details listed in the Bookings section). Finally we’d love to have any videos or photos you took of the event which Sunnyside and Hedgerow Tipple can use for future communications! Please email to office@sunnysidechurch.org.uk
