Trust me – that’s what God says

This is a piece written by my God-daughter which I used as a reflection at the Preachers and Leaders meeting last week. The group felt it spoke powerfully into our current circumstances and wanted to share it with you all.

With love and prayers

Hilary

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14: 27

Reflection from Georgina:

Trust me, that’s what God says.

Trust me because I specialise in bringing order out of chaos.

It’s why the sun will still rise on a stressed world.

It’s why the birds will sing over your fears.

It’s why the ocean still holds life beneath its waters, when we read of lives lost.

It’s why the seasons will change from winter to spring to summer, regardless of whether we are in quarantine or not.

My peace I give to you, my peace I leave with you.

My peace didn’t give up and leave this world the minute the chaos came.

I know your routines are threatened. I know you’re worried.

But who can add even an hour to their life by worrying.

I know you want me to tell you why. To tell you why this is happening. Why this is allowed in your lifetime. Why you have to go through this.

There is a bigger picture. But just know this. I’ve never not triumphed over evil. I’ve never not had the victory. I’ve never not known the time and the place of all these things.

So trust me. Your faith needs to be you eyes. Your hope needs to be your lifeline. Your love for me, and yourself and your neighbour needs to never fail.

Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.

Thank you, Hilary. I wonder whether I have missed this morning’s service. Could you help me?
