Daily Refletion 6: 23rd May

This is a reflection to help you pray during Thy Kingdom Come. There will be a reflection for each day which will focus on the two main themes of TKC this year: The character of God and living the kingdom through love and service. They have been written by different members of Sunnyside Church. We suggest you ask God to speak to you through the words and picture before you begin, then read slowly through the reflection. What is God saying to you? How might you respond?

Bible Reading: Psalm 100.2
Worship the Lord with gladness;
Come before him with joyful songs.

Reflection: Cheerfully Serving
Almost every time we would take an early morning walk, before the day warmed up, whilst in Hong Kong, we would come across a Chinese lady carefully sweeping the pavements along this particular road.  She would be there come rain or shine, and would always brighten our day with a beaming smile and a perfectly pronounced ‘Good Morning’.

However, that was as far as her English went, and our Cantonese went nowhere.  So we would greet each other, always with a smile and a wave, and walk on, having been immeasurably cheered.

Prayer by Nick Fawcett
Loving God, make a difference to me, so that I may make a difference to others. Amen.
