Each month we pray for two of our mission partners. During April we are praying for The Bible Society and Dacorum Emergency Night Shelter (DENS).
The Bible Society is ‘on a mission to bring the Bible to life for every man, woman and child’ in their own language. They want people to discover the Bible’s message for themselves, even if they’ve never thought the Bible was for them. They want them to read it, be excited by it and find their lives changed by it.
They ask for prayer for Israel and Gaza. Pray for an end to the war. Ask God to intervene to stop the bloodshed, the pain and the suffering.
- The Christian communities in the Bible Lands continue to provide ministry in the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. Pray for their safety and for the impact of their witness
- Pray for an end to the war, asking God to intervene to stop the bloodshed, the pain and the suffering
- Pray that people in Israel and Gaza will experience healing and the divided communities will be reconciled.
- Pray for strength and perseverance in mission workers.
- Pray that the Church in Israel and Gaza would remain full of grace and not give in to anger or fear.
Dacorum Emergency Night Shelter (DENS) describes itself as the first port of call for people in Dacorum who are facing homelessness, poverty and social exclusion; to support and empower them to take the next positive step in their lives, secure and maintain a long-term housing option and be an active member of their community. They ensure individuals have access to temporary and short-term accommodation, and individuals and families have access to emergency food and provisions.
They ask us to pray:
- For all those using the food bank (hours recently extended to meet growing need)
- Also for contributions (food and/or monetary) to continue/increase
- Volunteers to come forward to support the Hillbuster fundraising cycle ride in Hemel Hempstead
Opportunities to be involved supporting DENS:
Cycle ride (28th April) and Jurassic Coast Walk (5-7th July) – could you become involved as a participant or marshal etc?
