Working together to serve our town

The churches in Berkhamsted are trying to work together more so that we can share the love of Jesus with our town more effectively. One area in which we are seeking to do this is through finding ways in which we can care for God’s world together. The next opportunity to be part of this is a litter pick followed by refreshments on Sunday 15th September. We will leave Sunnyside at 1.45pm and do some litter picking in our parish; equipment will be provided but you might like to bring gloves. Other churches in the town will be doing the same in their areas. We are then all going to meet at Canal Fields at 3pm for a drink and cake which will be provided. We hope that lots of people will wish to be part of this exciting chance to serve with our brothers and sisters from other churches.

If you are not very mobile and would like to just come for tea, you are very welcome to do so.

Please let the office know if you are planning to come to the litter pick and/or tea. Thank you.

This is the prayer Sunnyside and other churches will be using as we set out on 15th September: Creator God, thank you for the beauty of the world around us and for giving us the privilege of caring for what you have made. We are sorry that we have not always done this well, and ask that you would make us better stewards of your creation. We pray that as we go out now to clean parts of our town, you will bless us and protect us, and enable us to know that we are serving you in this work. For we ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
