Challenging Issues – Thursday 3rd October, 6.45pm for 7pm

Perspectives on the Lord’s Supper/Holy Communion

In our Autumn sermon series, we are going to be addressing questions about Christian doctrine: at our first evening session we will share our understanding of the celebration of our faith when we gather together to share The Lord’s Supper, or Holy Communion as it is usually known.

There is a spectrum of understanding about what is the meaning of receiving bread and wine, as Jesus instructed us to do. This evening will be an opportunity to explore some of these different interpretations and attempt to consolidate our thinking around the teaching of the Church of England.

I know a number of our congregation come from different church backgrounds, so it will be interesting and instructive to share diverse understanding of this sacrament. Please indicate if you will be coming for the meeting only, or a light supper.

This Autumn series will continue on the first Thursday of the month, on 7th November and 5th December, at 6.45pm for 7 in the Breukelman Room.

Every blessing,
Rev’d Paul B-W
