Each month we pray for two of our mission partners. Sunnyside’s prayer focus for March locally is Good News for Everyone (GNFE), and A Rocha International.
Good News for Everyone (GNFE)
This month GDUK are asking us to pray for Good News for Everyone (GNFE). They serve to introduce others to Jesus Christ through the distribution of Scriptures in many areas of life, e.g. hotel rooms, schools, sports, clubs, etc. They also work to support local churches in their outreach. Through Gift Day, we support our local branch that covers Dacorum.
They ask us:
- to join in giving thanks and praying for those who attended the Nativity presentation at Northchurch Baptist Church and for those who received the Discover magazine;
- to give thanks that members were able to distribute over 200 New Testaments at King’s Langley School;
- to pray for their work at Tring School – that the barriers that are delaying arranging of a date for distribution of New Testaments would be overcome;
to pray for wisdom and boldness for the members of the local branch as they seek opportunities to distribute Scriptures and their magazines in local schools, care homes and hotels.
A Rocha International
Some background as to why A Rocha is a Sunnyside Mission Partner
A Rocha is a global family of conservation organisations working together to live out God’s calling to care for creation and equip others to do likewise.
A Rocha supports Christians for environmental action through conservation projects, resources for churches and involvement in global networks.
Sunnyside has direct connections:
1) as a participant in the UK A Rocha Eco Church programme where we have gained a Silver level and are working towards Gold.
2) A Rocha International Executive Director is Ed Walker MBE. Diana White and Paul Craig know him well, having worked closely with him as a fellow trustee of the Leprosy Mission of Great Britain. Ed is a man of deep faith, integrity and vision.
Recently Ed Walker attended the International Union for the Conservation of Nature IUCN congress. As the only global Christian conservation organisation among IUCN’s 1,400+ members, A Rocha brought a distinctive voice to discussions about protecting nature and inspiring care for the planet through both science and faith at the Congress in 2025.
The A Rocha delegation – representing countries from across the world – shared their work, joined conversations on conservation solutions and hosted a session exploring the role of faith communities in environmental stewardship. They also engaged at the Exhibition and participated in the Members’ Assembly, where they voted on key resolutions that will guide global conservation action for the coming years.
We pray for Ed Walker and his team as they bring a Christian perspective on Creation Care at this global level and build relationships that bear fruit over the coming years.
