The first Community Café of the year was held in Church on Saturday 17th January 2026 from 10.30am-noon hosted by Megan, Katie, and Samson, with Sarah and Karen E attending and helping to set back up. There were some delicious cakes on offer – with lemon being the flavour of choice this month! (via Katie’s mum, Megan, and a kind donation from one of the ballet mums). Sarah sat and had good discussions, Samson kept pausing doing his homework to serve cake, and the other ladies including Rebecca all had a good natter.

Many thanks to those who’ve completed the new Community Café in 2026 form – Community Café wouldn’t be possible without the brilliant folks supporting it. The 2026 plan currently has gaps so we could do with additional folks for each of the three roles (Bakers, Co-Hosts, Set Back Uppers) – in particular, Set Back Uppers which can take as little as 30 minutes! Other 2026 Community Café dates include: Saturday 21 February (second weekend of half term but ballet are in and appreciative of us running), Saturday 21 March, Saturday 18 April (kids will be back at school after Easter holidays), Saturday 16 May (hopefully will be a special celebration to mark Community Café turning 10!), Saturday 20 June, none as usual in July and August as summer, Saturday 19 September, Saturday 17 October, then Saturday 21 November (to fit in with the annual Tearfund Quiz), and not in December as it’s such a busy month.
