Our latest Community Café was held in Church on Saturday 21st February 2026 (the second weekend of half term but ballet were in) hosted by Pam and Katie plus Sarah came along to support. No gardeners this time but Lesley, Simon and Tony were selling compost bags to raise money for Fit For the Future. Pam was an absolute star – bringing along baked goods (both her cheese and bacon scones and chocolate cupcakes were very popular), sorting out the drinks, and staying until the end to help Katie clear up and set church back up. There were some brilliant conversations – Katie met a mum who was keen to hear more about Messy Babies and introduced Sarah, Lesley had some great conversations with some dads about Fit For the Future, and it was nice for the hosting team to hang out too (as shown in the photo of Pam and Katie having fun).

As mentioned in recent newsletters, the Community Café in 2026 plan would welcome some additional names on it – even just for one Café in 2026 please! Please read the Community Café job descriptions and contact Katie if wish to discuss.

Other 2026 Community Café dates include: Saturday 21 March, Saturday 18 April (kids will be back at school after Easter holidays), Saturday 16 May (hopefully will be a special celebration to mark Community Café turning 10!), Saturday 20 June, none as usual in July and August as it’s summer holiday time, Saturday 19 September, Saturday 17 October, then Saturday 21 November (to fit in with the annual Tearfund Quiz), and not in December as it’s such a busy month.
