New sermon series

The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.
The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

Psalm 145.8-9

We are excited to be starting a new sermon series this Sunday. The Bible is full of stories of God’s faithfulness to even the most unlikely of people. We are going to look at some of the people we meet in the Book of Genesis who were part of God’s story, some of whom may be less familiar to us. We will see how God remained faithful to them and worked through them, even when they seemed unimportant or got things wrong. We hope that this will encourage us as we are reminded that God is faithful to us and can work through us too.

Jacob had been tricked into marrying Leah when he wanted to marry her beautiful younger sister Rachel. God saw that Leah was not loved and gave her children which at the time was one way in which people saw God’s blessing on someone. The names Leah gave her children show that she knew that God had heard her cries.
