Each month we pray for two of our mission partners. Sunnyside’s prayer local focus for July is Sunnyside Rural Trust, and internationally CMS.

Sunnyside Rural Trust

Sunnyside Rural Trust (SSRT) is a charitable social enterprise that offers training and work experience for over 170 vulnerable adults across settings in Berkhamsted, Northchurch and Hemel Hempstead.

Activities include bee keeping, animal husbandry, growing plants and produce, landscaping and garden maintenance as well as serving in their cafés.

Please pray for:

• the team who offer wellbeing services to people with mild learning difficulties, autism and mild depression and all those who are in need of such a service;
• all those involved in the Mount Vernon Cancer Treatment Centre garden makeover, for necessary funds to be raised and all those who help with and visit the garden;
• nurturing the ongoing relationship between Sunnyside Church and SSRT

The Church Mission Society (CMS)

Last summer, our CMS Mission partners, Chris and Veronica and family relocated from their long-term base in Oropesa, on the East Coast of Spain to a new home and schools near Madrid. Chris & Veronica first visited Sunnyside in 2012 at the start of a challenging mission life into which God called them with the Church Mission Society (CMS). They have visited us several times since and, besides ministering to people of all faiths in their local community with his family, Chris is also the International Director for a Christian missional charity, which periodically requires him to travel overseas.

Currently, Chris and the family are on a lengthy 10-week deputational visit to UK, to increase his support from the churches here. This seems to be a full-on endeavour and so for the time being, we can best support him and the family by praying for his UK travels during July.

Prayer points:

• Healing for our daughter Samara’s eyesight (she has various medical issues affecting her eyesight).

• Wisdom for Veronica and myself as we provide pastoral care and support to our friend Sara (nickname) in Spain. She was Muslim but is now a Christian. 

• God to bring more individual supporters who give regularly (which is important for funding and planning budgets etc).
